Google Proclaims Their Stance on Google Video and You Tube

Google’s Official Blog announces news about Google Video and You Tube
“In November, we officially closed our acquisition of YouTube, and since then we’ve received a number of questions about what will happen next. The summary is that Google Video and YouTube will continue to play to their respective strengths.” Google has made a wise decision and didn’t place all of their eggs in one basket. Google Video will grow and develop as a source for all things video on the internet. Basically will be an extension of their basic search engine that will focus that give the relevant video search results for the keywords entered.
“Google Video will become even more comprehensive as it evolves into a service where you can search for the world’s online video content, irrespective of where it may be hosted.” So basically Google Video will include all of the webs video content.
You Tube will continue to play to it’s strength; user generated content that will never fail you if you need a good laugh or jaw dropping video. However that doesn’t mean that Google is not going to exclude the all that great content. Hell No! They will include it and a link to You Tube in their search results. So You Tube is not being left out like an unwanted extended family member that you only associate with at reunions because you have to. You Tube is going to be left to be left to play in it’s sandbox where it thrives.
- I also would assume that this is a move to legally separate Google Video from any lawsuits that may come You Tubes way in the coming months.
“as we’ve stated previously, will remain an independent subsidiary of Google, and will continue to operate separately”
Google has also announced a new adsense model that will monetize their video content. So look for advertisement coming to You Tube. I wonder if their will be some form of compensation for those who create the videos?
